Apparently the New York Rangers have a bit of a goalie controversy on their hands.

Last night, as Jonathan Quick got his third straight start and won his third straight game (he's only conceded four times on 83 shots, I saw ESPN's Linda Cohn imploring the Rangers to keep rolling with "Quickie," presumably because this is the first time since mid-December that New York beat two playoff teams in a row. (That you gotta go back to late November to find a time when they did so in regulation is, of course, a different story.)

And look, I get the controversy on a surface level. Igor Shestyorkin has been sub-average this season and especially bad lately: In his 10 appearances since the calendar flipped to 2024, he's got an .863 save percentage.
