The 5 biggest statistical slumps of the 2023-24 NHL season

One of the most fun parts of the NHL season is enjoying the break-out performances, as young players begin to fulfill their potential, underrated contributors take a step forward, and previously-unknown stars announce their presence. 

One of the biggest bummers, then, is when guys take a step in the opposite direction. Sometimes, reliable veterans lose a step and become shells of their former selves or even outright liabilities. Sometimes young players stumble as they try to expand their games or adjust to new roles. Sometimes those break-out seasons turn out to be outliers that unrealistically inflated our expectations, and gravity hits.
