It’s not very often that a team’s best prospect is also the league’s best prospect but that’s the case in New Jersey. This system has fattened up the last three drafts and now they’re a bonafide, healthy, pipeline once again.

Some players have already graduated to help the team, but more players are on the way. Two or three of them could be playing with the Devils when the puck drops on the upcoming regular season.

Jack Hughes certainly has his detractors — only because of his size — but once again at Devils training camp, he wowed the fans with his skating, edge work particularly, and stick skills and passing ability. He was able to do whatever he wanted to on the ice.
