The Carolina Hurricanes seem to get almost everything right these days. From a miraculous second-half of the NHL season that vaulted them to the Playoffs, and the Conference Finals run they made therein — it’s been one hell of a year in Raleigh.

Best of all, this party is just getting started. The Hurricanes are one of the NHL’s youngest teams, and with a prospect pool good enough to rank in EP Rinkside’s top three; their best days might still be ahead of them.

Much of the credit belongs to former-Hurricanes general manager and current Seattle NHL franchise general manager Ron Francis. His patience, prudence, and savvy at the draft table have this team set up for long-term, sustainable success.
