With the Under-18 World Hockey Championships right around the corner, now seems as good a time as any to take stock of the prospects that will have a significant part to play in 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

The top-end of this year’s class is ripe with potential franchise centres and wingers of nearly equal quality. What the defence lacks in quality — it’s especially dire through the first 15 or so picks, relative to most years — it makes up for with quantity in a mid-round flurry of potential sure to reveal a handful of diamonds in the rough.
