Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice announces sudden resignation
Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice resigned from his position Friday morning, saying he feels that he is unable to push the Jets to their full potential anymore. Assistant coach Dave Lowry was named the interim head coach and will be behind the bench Friday night when the Jets host the Washington Capitals.
The news came as a surprise since the Jets have generally been a good team under Maurice, though there has been a sense of underachievement in recent seasons.
