What we Learned: Nashville Predators rebuild plan is one worth replicating

There has been no shortage of coverage about how bad the Nashville Predators are. If anything, there hasn't been enough discussion of not only why they're bad this year, but how they got to this low point.

Saturday's win over Columbus aside, it was obvious to just about everyone what needs to happen here: A full-scale teardown, the likes of which we rarely see in the NHL. And that's what makes the decision to apparently go that route so interesting.

Even when the New York Rangers or Buffalo Sabres have intentionally hit the skids over the last several years, there were players with value they could have moved but didn't because they felt those players were integral to the team's future or the culture that would be necessary to show the kids the ropes.
