Take Town: Ups and downs
All praise is due to the NHL's new iron man, Phil Kessel.
Not much to say about the guy that hasn't already been said, but if nothing else, I have to respect his ability to score 400 goals while putting in what certainly feels like a minimal amount of effort. Sure, he could have scored 500, maybe even 600 if he worked out really hard all summer and ate absolutely right and, I don't know, drank water sometimes.
But I feel like if you can win two Stanley Cups, close in on 1,000 straight games played, become one of just 106 players in NHL history to score 400 goals, and at least get close to 1,000 career points, make like $90 million in your career, and do all that while also at least being perceived as putting in like 75 percent effort? That's beating the system. That's picking up a generation
