Take Town: Hall call

It happens every year but it's funny every time anyway.

Some mediocre (or worse) team gets to the Cup Final, gets creamed, and every team that was worse than that team decides, "We just need to do what they did and we're all set."

Even leaving aside the fact that the vast majority of that Florida Panthers team with a few notable exceptions was on the roster that won the Presidents' Trophy. So yeah, go out and copy the Florida model. All you gotta do is have a No. 1 defenceman, a Selke-calibre centre, and a few other top-five picks, then trade for one of the six or eight best skaters in the world, and have your $10-million goalie regain his two-time Vezina-winning form for a few months. Easy.
