John Klingberg headed to Minnesota Wild

NHL

In a last second trade before the deadline John Klingberg is reportedly headed to the Minnesota Wild.

In return the Ducks got back AHLer Andrej Sustr, the rights to Nikita Nesterenko a fourth-round pick in 2025, and Anaheim retained 50 percent of the salary.

Klingberg has had a difficult season in Anaheim, where he signed a one-year contract worth $7 million before this season.

Klingberg had just 24 points (8 goals, 16 assists) in 50 games and is a minus-28.

Last summer Klingberg thought he was going to sign a long-term deal, but couldn't find a suitor. He signed with the Ducks with the intention of them flipping him to a contender at the deadline.
