I am writing this as early as possible in the day in the hopes that a Jack Eichel trade doesn't happen before it's done. Seems like that's going to happen any minute now, and the bidding is between one team that seemingly doesn't need to make it right now (the Calgary Flames) and one that very much does (the Vegas Golden Knights).
Other than that, I have been credibly assured there's nothing else going on in the NHL these days.
