Report: Dallas Stars acquire Max Domi from Chicago Blackhawks
The Dallas Stars have acquired forward Max Domi from the Chicago Blackhawks. No confirmation yet on the return, but Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli is reporting that Anton Khudobin will likely be a part of this trade to make the finances work.
Domi, 28, has bounced back after a few down years, after signing a one-year deal with the Blackhawks last offseason valued at $3 million. He's on pace for the second-highest points in his career, with 49 in 60 games as of this writing.
Max Domi, acquired by DAL, is a playmaking forward. His passing skill is and always has been very strong, the issue is that it's best utilized at centre and he happens to be a total defensive liability. Takes a lot of penalties too, incidentally. #TexasHockey pic.twitter.com/ERhzo7Xpon

It will be interesting to see how Domi fits in Dallas. His per-hour offence aligns with career norms, and he's not driving particularly robust territorial results. Perhaps his surface-level production will take a hit, but his efficiency as a scorer and two-way contributor will look better in a role that better fits with his skill set at this point in his career.
