Buffalo Sabres make trade for Jordan Greenway
The Buffalo Sabres have entered the Eastern Conference arms race.
Buffalo added Jordan Greenway on Friday in a surprising deal for a forward in the first year of a deal he signed Minnesota before the season.
Minnesota received a 2023 second-round pick and a 2024 fifth-round pick in the deal, with no salary retained.
For Minnesota this is a long-term move to open up cap flexibility in the summer.
#mnwild get a 2023 second-round pick and 2024 fifth-round pick for Greenway. No salary retained, so they free $3 million in next two years to help with conducting business this summer

For Buffalo, Greenway adds a physical presence despite his offensive slide this season. In 45 games, Greenway only has seven points (two goals, five assists) after scoring 27 in 62 the season before.
