2024 Winter Classic headed to Seattle

The 2024 Winter Classic will feature the NHL's newest franchises. 

Jan. 1, 2024 will feature the Seattle Kraken hosting the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Park.

An outdoor game featuring Seattle has been in the works since the franchise joined the NHL. 

It had been initially thought such a game would be a Stadium Series game, likely against the Vancouver Canucks, but the Winter Classic became more of a viable options with both the popularity and on-ice success for both expansion teams. 

The Winter Classic is an American TV event, remember, it has to have the TV pull from multiple American markets. 

With Seattle officially playing in an outdoor game the only teams remaining without an outdoor game are the Arizona Coyotes, Florida Panthers, and Columbus Blue Jackets.
