Olen Zellweger entered the Western Hockey League as a late-second-round pick by the Everett Silvertips. 

The Anaheim Ducks prospect leaves as the CHL’s top defenceman from the past five seasons, maybe even longer. 

During his prep hockey days, Zellweger showed promise as a skillful defender, although he was not yet a dominant force. His rookie season in the WHL was relatively unremarkable.

Everything changed during the spring-only season of 2021 when Zellweger burst onto the scene with his dynamic rushes, suffocating rush defense, and electrifying edge work. In the subsequent two years, he consistently raised the bar, reaching new levels of performance that seemed almost unbelievable.
