Film Room: Why Connor Bedard is hockey's most dynamic prospect

Look at Connor Bedard’s Elite Prospects page, and something curious might catch the eye. The WHL’s first exceptional status player went from 28 points in just 15 games as a 15-year-old to just 24 points in 24 games this year.  

When I set out to write this article, I figured that, surely, something was amiss, that there was something Bedard changed. After all, that’s a considerable downtick in production. So I would diagnose some issues, explain why he’s still amazing, and provide a convincing argument for why he should feature prominently at the World Juniors.

Then, I watched the games. I realized there wasn’t anything wrong. Bedard’s exceptional and somehow even better than last season.

Now more than ever, I’m convinced of Bedard’s impending superstardom. Frankly, he’s the most dynamic prospect since Connor McDavid.
