Michigan starting the season with ups and downs

AMHERST, Massachusetts — No one will feel bad for Michigan.

When you have guys like Adam Fantilli, Luke Hughes, Mackie Samoskevich, Erik Portillo, Matty Beniers, Brendan Brisson, Thomas Bordeleau, Kent Johnson, and Owen Power leave in consecutive summers, after going to two consecutive Frozen Fours, there's just not going to be a lot of sympathy if your lineup is a little less star-studded than usual.

But through four games, it's hard to get a handle on what the Wolverines bring to the table.

They're currently 2-2-0, thanks to a home split with Providence followed by a road split at UMass this past weekend. But how they've gotten those results has been a mixed bag.
