Checking in on the NCAA hockey conference races at the break

The NCAA hockey season is officially at the midseason break, with all teams now idle until at least Dec. 27, when the Ledyard Bank Classic starts up at Dartmouth. Most teams, however, won’t play non-exhibitions again until sometime in early January.

So, it’s as good a time as any to take stock of how things generally went in the first two and a half months of the season and how that sets everyone up for the grueling stretch run leading to the conference tournaments that will begin in early March.

Let’s take a look at how the conference regular-season races are shaping up:


Atlantic Hockey

Right now, it’s fair to say Bentley is running away with the conference, boasting a .806 points percentage. The next-closest team, preseason conference No. 1 Sacred Heart, is at .644.
