Fantasy Hockey Feature: Logan Stankoven has arrived
Injuries to Dallas Stars forwards Tyler Seguin and Evgenii Dadonov forced the team’s hand to call up prospect Logan Stankoven. It didn’t take him long to make an impact with two goals, one power play assist, six shots, and five hits in three games. Starting the AHL season with 24 goals and 33 assists in 47 games put him high on the list of skaters that fantasy owners wanted to see promoted, and Stankoven has not disappointed. It is worth looking through his journey as a prospect, the early returns in the NHL, and what fantasy owners can expect for the balance of 2023-24.
Stankoven was drafted in the middle of the second round by Dallas in 2021 and fewer than three years later, it’s fair to ask how a player that looks to have so much upside fell to the second round.
