Fantasy Focus: Dougie Hamilton is an elite fantasy asset, but a murky projection lingers
There are some players who seemingly don't fit the mould. The square peg that teams constantly try to force into a round hole. Sometimes that leads to conformity. Other times, it leads to frustration, and then an opportunity for others. This has been the case of Dougie Hamilton.

The upside of this monstrous 6-foot-6 defender was never in doubt when the Bruins selected him ninth overall back in 2011. In fact, fans were positively giddy with anticipation for not one but two major pieces lining their ranks as the return in the Phil Kessel deal.
However, less than 200 games into his NHL career -- a spell that saw him explode for seven points in 12 playoff games as a rookie and then click at a 50-point pace in his final season in Beantown -- Hamilton was sent packing.
