Fantasy Focus: Potential deadline movers and their value

I don’t know about you, but I sure have fond memories of being an elementary-aged kid and faking an illness on trade deadline day in order to catch all the hubbub live and from the comfort of my couch. 

It was a tradition that became more difficult to pull off with each passing year. Especially with my old man being a massive hockey fan. One time, I had to fake the flu starting on Sunday in order to catch the deadline on Wednesday 

It’s called dedication, people. 

However, gone are the days where the actual deadline provides the guttural, thirst-quenching deals that keep the insiders busy for 18 straight hours on-air. This is not the NBA deadline with copious blockbusters hitting the stage every few minutes. 

And yet, every year players move teams and often, a decent amount of them are impactful players that end up shifting the fantasy hockey paradigm a tad. They just usually end up coming off of the board in the days leading up rather than on that day. 

And so, with the NHL trade deadline a little less than a month out and the rumour mills starting to fire on all cylinders, I thought this would be a good time to chat about some of the bigger names that could move and what a change in a sweater would do for their value.
