Fantasy Focus: 6 bold predictions down the stretch

Fantasy Hockey

OK, it took a minute, but almost every team has played at least 41 games this season. Some are pushing close to 50 by now, but it still means that we have met and are quickly passing by the halfway point of the season.

And what a half a season it has been.

There have been plenty of surprises in the fantasy landscape this year. From Nazem Kadri running alongside Connor McDavid near the top of the scoring race, to Ville Husso breaking the goalie charts and looking more and more like a goaltending thief in the night in St Louis.

Chris Kreider gunning for the Rocket Richard Trophy, the rebuilding Anaheim Ducks in the playoffs, the Montreal Canadiens in the cellar, the Arizona Coyotes looking like a tire fire both on and off of the ice… wait, sorry, that was the opposite of surprising. But I digress.

What’s important is that most of those happenings were far from predictable when the puck was first dropped to begin 2021-22. Now, as we enter into the latter portion of the season, there will surely be another healthy dose of surprises. And so I present to you my contribution to the prediction of them.

These are bold in nature and as a result, are unlikely to come to fruition. They wouldn’t be fun if they were.
