The WHL 2023-24 Season Preview: Who will break through in a year of turnover?

The WHL spoiled us last year. 

Connor Bedard, big trades with unfathomable returns, draft-eligible talent putting on shows every night – capped off with an incredible post-season.

This season could prove to be just as exciting. 

The Wenatchee Wild will take the place of the Winnipeg ICE right in the middle of their championship window. Meanwhile, last season’s top teams out west will have difficult decisions to make – and the rest of the conference is prepared to take over their places. 

The Prince George Cougars are poised to capture their division for the first time since 2017, while the Moose Jaw Warriors have an opportunity to make it past the second round for the first time since 2012. 

But that won’t be easy because, while the WHL graduates its three biggest stars in Bedard, Logan Stankov
