Around The AHL: Roest dishes on the season in Syracuse

AHL

Tampa Bay Lightning assistant general manager Stacy Roest has had a front-row seat for the strangest season in AHL history.

Serving as general manager of the Syracuse Crunch is a significant part of Roest’s file. The 47-year-old had a 17-year pro career that included 244 NHL regular-season games and nine seasons in Switzerland, and he had to rely on that experience this season. But when the 18-10-3-0 Crunch play their 32nd and final game of the season this weekend, Roest can finally close the book on this hectic stretch of months.

Roest, who is in his ninth season with Tampa Bay, has helped to oversee one of the top NHL-AHL talent pipelines in the game. His portfolio has included serving as director of player development, managing summer development camps, and involvement with Lightning prospects in the CHL and NCAA.
