"He's built for this," how Michael Misa continues to handle the hype of exceptional status

SAGINAW, Michigan – It’s hard to avoid the hype surrounding Michael Misa

The 16-year-old has 23 points in 18 games for the Saginaw Spirit and is a driving force on a team that will host the Memorial Cup. He’s broken OHL Cup Records held by Connor McDavid and is the reigning OHL Rookie of The Year after entering the CHL a year early with exception status. 

As Saginaw extended a seven-game win streak on Friday, Misa casually had three assists in a 3-2 victory against the Niagara Ice Dogs. 

“He just does things right,” Spirit defenceman Zayne Parekh said. “He’s built for this, and he’s gone through it and this is normal for him. So it’s been fun to watch for a year and a half or so.”
