Family, coachability, and "great values": How Cayden Lindstrom became a premier 2024 NHL Draft prospect

It's a Sunday night in Prince George, the gateway to B.C.'s north.  

For the Medicine Hat Tigers, it's the final stop of their five-game road trip. For Tigers' centre Cayden Lindstrom, who grew up several hours north, it's as close to a homecoming as he'll get in the WHL.

Early in the third period, Lindstrom comes off the bench, lines up an opponent cutting across the top of the offensive zone, and launches them through the air. 

Within seconds, he’s blowing past the Prince George Cougars’ defence, driving the net, and slipping the puck through the goalie for his 10th goal in just 12 games. 

After the game, Lindstrom received a text from Mark Burgin, who, along with his family, welcomed him into his home when he was just 15, a year after moving away from his family based in Fort St. John.
